The Glenn-Colusa Irrigation District Board of Directors consists of five directors who are responsible for establishing policy and conducting the business of the District.

The directors must be a landowner in the District, and are elected to four-year terms. Each director represents one of five divisions of the District. Voting eligibility is limited to GCID landowners. Elections take place on the last Tuesday in August of each odd numbered year.

Glenn-Colusa Irrigation District to Hold General Election

Willows, CA – May 4, 2011 – Glenn-Colusa Irrigation District will hold an all-mail ballot election to elect Board of Director positions for Division One, Division Two and Division Three on August 30, 2011.     

Candidates are subject to general district election procedures, and must be voters and landowners within the division for which the nomination petition is filed.  Eligible candidates may obtain declarations of candidacy for the positions from the District’s offices at 344 East Laurel Street, Willows, CA 95988.  Declarations should be filed at the District’s offices no later than 5:00 p.m. on June 3, 2011.

In the event that there are no nominees or an insufficient number of nominees for the positions, the appointment of the directors will be made pursuant to California Elections Code Section 10515.
