GCID is governed by a locally elected five-member Board of Directors. The Board meets the first and third Thursday of each month, unless otherwise noted. Board meetings are open to the public and the community is encouraged to participate.

The Glenn-Colusa Irrigation District Board of Directors consists of five directors who are responsible for establishing policy and conducting the business of the District. Voted by local election, directors must be a landowner in the District. Each director is elected to a four-year term and represents one of five divisions in the District. Voting eligibility is limited to GCID landowners.
Elections take place on the last Tuesday in August of each odd numbered year. Candidates are subject to general district election procedures and must be voters and landowners within the division for which the nomination petition is filed.
Eligible candidates may obtain declarations of candidacy for the positions from the District’s office at 344 East Laurel Street, Willows, CA. If there are no nominees or an insufficient number of nominees for the positions, the appointment of the directors will be made pursuant to California Elections Code Section 10515.
